Saved By The Scruff

April 16, 2018

Adopting a dog or cat has become a huge movement across North America, and Healthy Pets is proud to support it any way we can. One of Toronto’s most influential rescue groups, Save Our Scruff, is hosting their second annual Scruff Social this Saturday, April 21, and we are pleased to be the presenting sponsor!

If you are a pet lover in the Greater Toronto Area, you’ve likely heard of Save Our Scruff. Save Our Scruff (SOS) is an amazing organization; run by a dedicated group of women who are focused on saving any and every dog in need. As a foster-based registered charity, SOS is devoted to rescuing dogs regardless of breed, size, or medical needs. Whether a dog has four legs or three, behavioral needs or not, he or she deserves a second chance at life.

The mission at SOS is to prevent overpopulation and stop the cycle of abandonment and neglect, while providing aid and support when needed. The SOS team of volunteers provide care and rehabilitation for stray, abandoned, or displaced dogs. They are truly leading-edge through enhancement, protection, care, education and advocacy. The SOS process begins with temporary foster care, with the ultimate goal of finding a well-matched, carefully screened furever home.

Volunteers, fosters, rescue-advocates, and dog-lovers are invited to eat, drink, and celebrate the success of Save Our Scruff and their 1000th adopted dog. Tickets are still available for the second annual Scruff Social, being held at District 28 in Leslieville. Tickets include complimentary drinks, live entertainment, a specialty cocktail bar, silent auction, and the opportunity to meet adorable adoptables.
