Dr. Sarah Machell
North Oakville Animal Hospital
I am a small animal veterinarian, I graduated from OVC (Ontario Veterinary College), University of Guelph in 1997. I established North Oakville Animal Hospital (NOAH) in 2000. I practice exclusively on dogs and cats - but at home, in addition to 3 cats & and 2 dogs we do have a flock of chickens, four ducks, some quail and a rabbit. I live on a small hobby farm and love animals! My husband has to continuously remind me not to give into the temptation to fill our barn to capacity.... but I am slowly wearing him down to the idea of adding goats to our family! I have 2 rapidly growing children, I love the outdoors and spending time at our cottage.

Dr. Brendon Laing
Furiendly Vet
Dr. Brendon Laing is a practicing small animal veterinarian with an entrepreneurial spirit who is always looking for new ways to serve pet parents and the community. Dr. Laing received his bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University and his veterinary degree from OVC, where he was the recipient of the prestigious Small Animal Surgery Award from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. After graduation, he joined his father in practice at Town & Country Animal Hospital, making them a rare father-son team. Brendon’s passion for improving veterinary care has driven him to pursue a new practice model aimed at providing on-demand mobile veterinary services. He believes that technology will be the cornerstone of future veterinary practices, enabling veterinarians to surpass the expectations of today’s well-educated and service minded pet parents.

Dr. Renee Fleming
Guelph Animal Hospital
R. Fleming attended the University of Guelph, graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Studies in the fall of 2000, and she started the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Ontario Veterinary College that same year. Dr. Fleming has always had a passion for exotic and wild animal medicine, and has assisted with the medical care of African elephants, white rhinoceros, giraffes, lions, and many antelope species. While at the Guelph Animal Hospital, Dr. Fleming can be found tending to anything with fur or scales. She sees the majority of our small mammal patients (rabbits, ferrets, rats, chinchillas, lizards etc.) and treats them with the same caring and compassion that she does our dog and cat patients. Her most avid area of interest is pain control – both surrounding surgery and for chronic conditions such as arthritis or cancer. Dr. Fleming also has special affinity for pets with ‘squished’ faces – she is our resident bulldog expert! She has owned both English and French bulldogs and will (hopefully) never be without one in her family.
